Guide
Best Claude Code plugin for production errors
What Sentry, PostHog, LogRocket, elmah.io and BugTape hand Claude Code: stack, replay, a post-deploy watch, or a reviewed pull request.
Short answer: Pick the plugin that already holds the evidence, then check what it hands Claude Code. Sentry's listing is MCP plus skills: an issue summarizer, the stack and severity. PostHog's plugin is errors, analytics and session replay. LogRocket's listing is replay search, metrics and issues, and it does not describe an error-to-pull-request step. elmah.io adds a remote MCP server, four skills and a deployment-watchdog agent. BugTape hands the real-user tape (DOM replay, the failed request, the console and the stack), records the pull request with ack_bug, and checks the next release. BugTape is not listed on Anthropic's Claude plugin marketplace.
No account yet: claude mcp add --transport http bugtape-demo https://app.bugtape.ai/demo/mcp connects a read-only sample. It needs no sign-in.

What each plugin hands Claude Code
Marketplace listings show an install button. They rarely say which evidence the agent can read. This table is that gap. Install counts on those listings move, so this page does not quote them.
| Plugin | What Claude Code gets | Where that is written | Error to a reviewed pull request |
|---|---|---|---|
| Sentry | MCP and skills. An issue-summarizer agent, stack traces, severity and user impact | claude.com/plugins/sentry | The listing describes a sentry-code-review skill that analyzes and fixes bugs in GitHub pull requests. This page did not run it |
| PostHog | Error tracking, analytics, feature flags and experiments. Session replay is part of the same MCP tools | Marketplace listing, Claude Code plugin docs, Session replay over MCP | Not described as a step on the pages checked |
| LogRocket | Search and watch session replays, plus metrics, issues and user behavior | claude.com/plugins/logrocket | The listing does not describe opening a pull request |
| elmah.io | Logs, a stack trace, deployments and uptime, through MCP. Four skills. A post-deploy watchdog in Claude Code and Cursor | Plugin docs, Plugin page, GitHub | Not described as opening a pull request |
| BugTape | DOM replay, the failed request, the console and the stack for one occurrence | Plugins, Install in Claude Code | The agent calls ack_bug with the pull request URL. A person reviews it. BugTape does not merge |
Sentry
The Sentry listing (checked 6 Nov 2026) says the plugin brings error monitoring into Claude Code, with MCP and skill capabilities. It names an issue-summarizer agent, stack traces, severity, user impact and links back to Sentry issues. It also names /seer and /getIssues, and a sentry-code-review skill for bugs in GitHub pull requests. If your errors already live in Sentry, start there. BugTape does not replace Sentry. BugTape and Sentry.
PostHog
The PostHog listing (checked 6 Nov 2026) says the plugin covers analytics, feature flags, experiments, error tracking and insights. PostHog's Claude Code plugin docs say the plugin provides the same MCP tools as https://mcp.posthog.com/mcp, and they show claude plugin install posthog. PostHog's session replay MCP docs say that server can search recordings and read a session (duration, interactions, console log counts). PostHog has replay. BugTape vs PostHog.
LogRocket
The LogRocket listing (checked 6 Nov 2026) says Claude Code can query session replays, metrics, issues and user behavior. It names six tools: list_organizations, list_projects, use_logrocket, find_sessions, watch_sessions and build_metric. Example prompts search sessions where users hit errors and watch one session. LogRocket has replay. The listing does not describe turning an error into a pull request. BugTape vs LogRocket.
elmah.io
elmah.io describes itself as error logging for .NET, and the same docs site also covers JavaScript, React, Angular and Vue. Do not read this page as ".NET only."
The AI plugin docs and the plugin page (both checked 6 Nov 2026) say the plugin packages the remote MCP server with four skills:
debug-production-errorpost-deployment-checkinvestigate-frequent-errorscheck-uptime-status
Claude Code install, from those pages:
claude plugin marketplace add elmahio/elmah-io-ai-plugin
claude plugin install elmah-io@elmah-ioThen /mcp, select elmahio, and sign in. The server URL in the MCP setup doc is https://mcp.elmah.io/mcp.
Cursor installs from a local clone of github.com/elmahio/elmah-io-ai-plugin, then Plugins → Add → From Local Repo. ChatGPT and Codex get the four skills and the MCP server. The deployment-watchdog agent is not in that OpenAI plugin. The 5 Nov 2026 changelog says OpenAI plugins do not support agents.
The agent is for Claude Code and Cursor. The plugin README says it monitors for regressions for 30 minutes after a deployment, alerts on fatal errors or downtime, and otherwise reports HEALTHY or UNHEALTHY. The 20 July 2026 changelog uses the same 30-minute wording. The plugin page says the plugin is free and included on every plan, including the 21-day trial. This page did not re-check elmah.io logging prices.
BugTape
BugTape is not listed on Anthropic's Claude plugin marketplace (claude.com listings, including the official marketplace). The commands below add BugTape's own repository as a plugin source. They do not submit BugTape to Anthropic's directory.
From Plugins:
claude plugin marketplace add jackfieldman/bugtape-plugins
claude plugin install bugtape@bugtape-pluginsRestart Claude Code if the plugin does not appear. Open /mcp, choose BugTape and sign in. Then run /bugtape:setup, or ask it to connect BugTape and choose the project.
You can connect the hosted MCP server without that plugin package. From Install in Claude Code:
npx -y bugtape connect claudeOpen the link, check the code, and click Allow. The server is https://app.bugtape.ai/mcp.
What the agent reads is one occurrence: DOM replay (rebuilt from DOM events, not a screen video), the failed request, the console and the stack. It calls ack_bug with working, then again with the pull request URL. A person reviews that pull request. When you mark the issue fixed, BugTape anchors it to the release. If the same failure comes back from a newer release, the issue reopens as a regression. BugTape does not merge or deploy.
Capture is separate from the plugin. One script tag, npm install @bugtape/sdk, or a server SDK has to be in the app before production errors arrive. The quickstart is that step. Screenshots and voice notes in the report form are not available on the hosted service. Servers have no replay or console.
Plans and credits
MCP works on every plan, including Free. On Free and Prepaid credits, each agent read of a bug's captured events costs 2 credits. Free includes 150 credits a month. On Pro ($29 USD a month) those reads are free. A prepaid pack costs $10 USD for 2,000 credits. Detail is on Pricing.
listen (the live wait for the next bug) needs Pro, or prepaid credits on the workspace. On Free without those credits, start with list_recommended_critical. Do not start with list_bugs.
Capture keys (bt_live_ / bt_test_) are rejected for MCP. They only send reports. The agent uses OAuth or a bt_pat_ token. MCP install · MCP tools.
MCP servers that are not these plugins
Datadog and Jam publish MCP servers. This page does not treat them as Claude Code plugins. Datadog's server can search error-tracking issues. Jam's server reads a recording a person made. Those rows, and the rest of the MCP list, are in Best error tracking MCP servers. The Datadog and Jam rows there were checked on 26 Oct 2026. elmah.io, Runheed and OpenFault were added to that post on 6 Nov 2026.
Install BugTape, then send the first tape
- Install the plugin or connect. Use the plugin commands above, or
npx -y bugtape connect claude, and click Allow. - Create a free workspace. On the sign-in screen, choose Create one. No card. Creating the account does not grant agent access by itself. Return to the connection and click Allow.
- Add capture and open the first tape. Follow the quickstart, send one test error, then ask Claude Code to call
list_recommended_criticalandget_repro_context.

What is the best Claude Code plugin for production errors?
The one that already stores the evidence you need. Use the Sentry plugin when the errors are in Sentry. Use PostHog when you want errors, analytics and session replay in one plugin. Use LogRocket when you want to search and watch replays. Use elmah.io when the logs are there and you want the skills or the post-deploy watchdog. Use BugTape when you want the browser tape, a recorded pull request and a release check. You can connect more than one.
Does the PostHog Claude Code plugin include session replay?
Yes. PostHog's session replay docs say the MCP server can search recordings and read a session, and the Claude Code plugin docs say the plugin provides those same MCP tools. Checked 6 Nov 2026.
Does the LogRocket plugin open a pull request from an error?
The marketplace listing does not describe that. It describes searching and watching session replays, querying metrics and issues, and inspecting user behavior. Checked 6 Nov 2026.
Is the BugTape plugin on Anthropic's official marketplace?
No. BugTape is not listed on Anthropic's Claude plugin marketplace. Install it from Plugins (jackfieldman/bugtape-plugins) or run npx -y bugtape connect claude.
What does elmah.io's deployment-watchdog do?
The plugin README says it watches for regressions for 30 minutes after a deployment, alerts on fatal errors or downtime, and otherwise reports HEALTHY or UNHEALTHY. It is in the Claude Code and Cursor plugin. The ChatGPT and Codex plugin does not include it. Checked 6 Nov 2026.
Does BugTape replace Sentry?
No. Keep Sentry if it already monitors your stack. BugTape can run next to it when you want the DOM replay, the failed request, the console and the stack kept with the issue, and a pull request URL recorded with ack_bug.
