# BugTape plugins

Your agent gets the evidence. You keep building.

Connect BugTape to Claude, ChatGPT, Codex or Grok. Start free, choose a workspace and project, then ask about one real failure. The plugin includes short guides for setup, triage, reporting and verification.

Install from the official [BugTape plugin repository](https://github.com/jackfieldman/bugtape-plugins) with the commands below. It contains only the reviewed plugin and marketplace files.

Prefer a download? [Download the coding-tool marketplace](/plugins/bugtape-marketplace-0.1.0.zip) and unzip it to get the `bugtape-plugins` folder. In the commands below, replace the GitHub source with `./bugtape-plugins`. The [plugin-only package](/plugins/bugtape-0.1.0.zip) is for plugin import and review, not a browser extension. [Check the download hashes](/plugins/release.json).

## Claude Code

Restart Claude Code if the plugin does not appear yet. Open `/mcp`, choose BugTape and sign in. Then run `/bugtape:setup` or ask “Connect BugTape and choose my project.”

## Codex

Open BugTape in Plugins and complete the connection. Start a fresh conversation if the installed skills do not appear. Run the plugin's setup guide to choose your workspace and project.

## Grok Build

Already installed with Claude Code? Grok Build can discover that marketplace and plugin too. Otherwise, add the source and install:

Grok Build accepts the Claude-compatible plugin format. Review the plugin trust prompt to finish installation. Connect the BugTape MCP server with the host's authentication flow, then ask “Connect BugTape and choose my project.”

## Chat apps

The hosted MCP address is the same on all three:

- **Claude:** open Settings → Connectors → Add custom connector. Enter the address and complete sign-in.
- **ChatGPT:** open [Plugins](https://chatgpt.com/plugins), select the plus button, then Add custom MCP server. Enter BugTape and the address. Configure OAuth, review the connection and create the plugin. Account and workspace policies can limit custom servers.
- **Grok:** open [Connectors](https://grok.com/connectors), then New Connector → Custom. Enter the address and complete authentication. Business and Enterprise teams need their admin to provision the connector first.

A custom MCP connection supplies the tools. The four bundled skills require the full plugin package or a published directory installation. These downloads are not yet public directory listings. Public listings are separate from a working custom connection.

## New to BugTape?

Start the connection in your chosen platform. On BugTape's sign-in screen, choose **Create one**. Create a free workspace, then return to the pending connection. Choose the workspace, permissions and access duration, and press **Allow**. Creating an account alone does not grant agent access.

## Try one useful task

Or give the agent a specific issue ID. It should read that issue, explain the failure and show what evidence is missing. Ask for a code fix when you want one. You review the changes. A pull request alone is not proof that the failure is fixed.

To check a verification receipt, give the receipt ID, issue ID and project ID. If no receipt exists, the agent must say the fix is unverified.

## Access and cost

MCP works on every BugTape plan. On Free and Prepaid, reading captured events costs 2 credits; other reads are free. Pro includes event reads. Capture keys cannot sign in to MCP. Never paste passwords or tokens into a chat to install this plugin.
